Tax Assessment Notices

2016 Taxes - Due July 31, 2016

The following penalties will be applied the day after the following dates:

  • July 31, 2016                   2%
  • October 31, 2016          10%
  • February 28, 2017        12%   Arrears penalty

Payment Options:

  • taxes may be paid through online banking
  • cheques may be mailed to the address below
  • post-dated cheques are accepted
  • Payments may be made at the County office in Camrose during regular office hours:
    • Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 12:00 noon  and 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
  • Mail drop box at Camrose County - front door

Pre-authorized monthly withdrawal plan:

  • Commences January 1 and runs to December 1 of each year.
  • Payments from Jan. 1 to May 1 will be based on your previous year's taxes. When the current year's assessment notice is mailed out (usually mid-May), your monthly payment will be adjusted to reflect the change in the annual levy. The revised monthly payment will commence June 1.
  • Notification of your revised payment will be mailed with your 2016 Tax Assessment Notice.

Example:

  • 2016 Assessment Notice = $600.00
    • $600.00/12 = $50.00/month
    • $50.00/mo x 5 months (Jan - May) = $250.00
    • 2016 Tax Assessment = $635.00
    • less Credit (Jan-May payments) = $250.00
    • Balance to be spread over 7 months = $385.00
    • $385.00/7 months (June - Dec) = $55.00/month
  • Enrollment in this plan will continue until canceled. Should you wish to withdraw from this plan, please advise the County office in writing at least two weeks prior to the next payment date.
  • If payment obligations are not met, enrollment in the plan will be terminated. Tax penalties will then be applied on any unpaid balance.
  • Penalties will not be added provided that payments are kept up to date.
  • Payments can only be made from an account with chequing privileges such as a bank, credit union, or trust company.
  • If you change your chequing account, please provide a new 'VOID' cheque at least two weeks prior to the next payment due.

How to Apply:

Application forms are available at the Camrose County office or online here. Complete and sign this form and return it to the County along with a "sample" cheque marked "VOID".
