Letter of Support – Resumption of Camrose Connector
Council sent a letter of support for the resumption of the Camrose Connector to the Alberta Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors. Camrose County received a request from the City of Camrose to send a letter of support for the resumption of the Camrose Connector. The Camrose Connector was a pilot project funded by the Province of Alberta which provided public transportation from Camrose to Edmonton from 2018 to 2021. 

Winter Gravel Haul Rates
Council set the winter gravel haul rates for gravelling approximately 500 miles of County roads this winter.

Camrose and Area Lodge Authority
Carla Beck and Melodie Stol from the Camrose and Area Lodge Authority presented an update to Council. Their annual report can be seen in the September 12, 2023 Agenda Package linked below.

Highway 21 Advocacy
Council approved sending a joint letter in collaboration with the City of Camrose to the Provincial Transportation Ministry regarding the addition of passing lanes on Highway 21. Administrations from both municipalities are collecting statistics on traffic counts and accident locations to make a case for adding more passing lanes between Highway 13 and Highway 14.

Asset Disposal
Council approved the disposal of a County truck at auction.

Policy Updates
Council approved updates to the Health and Safety Policy Statement, the Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy, and the Signing Authority Policy. Details can be found in the September 12, 2023 Agenda Package linked below.

Holiday Week Office Closure 2023
Council approved the closure of Town Offices to the public for December 27 and 28 to provide staff with the additional opportunities use vacation time during the Holidays when the office is quiet. County staff will be working during this time, but office doors will be closed and phones will be off. In the case of a winter weather event, County phones will be available for resident calls.
