Administration Update
Administration continued work on financial operations, grant reporting, property tax inquiries, and legal and policy matters. Property tax payments continue to be received, with approximately 31% of taxes paid to date.
Staff are also preparing for an upcoming Rural Municipalities Association (RMA) staff tour, and participating in regional collaboration, and professional development opportunities.

City Utility Master Plan Supported
Council approved sending a letter to the City of Camrose indicating its support for the City’s updated Utility Master Plans, which align with the County’s existing Intermunicipal Development Plan and Area Structure Plans.
The updated plans reflect lower long-term growth projections and adjust future water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater servicing to better match anticipated development. The changes are also expected to inform future updates to off-site levy bylaws that help fund growth-related infrastructure.

Proposed Redistricting Advances to Public Hearing
Council gave first reading to Bylaw 1589, which proposes redesignating Lot 2, Block 1, Plan 082-0374 (Pt. NW 18-47-19-W4) from Agricultural District to Small Lot Country Residential District.
First reading begins the public consultation process and allows the application to proceed to a Public Hearing before Council considers the bylaw for further readings.

Intermunicipal Agreement Updated
Council approved an updated Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework (ICF) with the Village of Rosalind and repealed the existing ICF bylaw.
The updated agreement reflects current provincial legislation while maintaining the existing collaborative relationship and shared service arrangements between the two municipalities.

Policy Updates Approved
Council approved updates to the County’s Public Access to Documents and Staff Recruitment policies.
The amendments ensure the policies reflect current provincial privacy legislation, clarify processes for public document requests, and update staff roles and responsibilities.

Letter of Support Approved
Council approved sending a letter of support to Emissions Reduction Alberta for the Battle River Railway’s proposed Battery Electric Locomotive and Solar Charging Project.
The project seeks grant funding to support the purchase of a zero-emission locomotive and solar charging infrastructure.

Deputy Reeve Elected
Council elected Councillor Bergstrom to serve as Deputy Reeve for the next eight-month term.
The Deputy Reeve supports the Reeve by chairing meetings and carrying out the Reeve’s duties when required.

Council & Committee Updates
The Reeve and Councillors reports shared updates from recent community events, committee meetings, and regional initiatives attended on behalf of the County. Highlights included the Jaywalkers’ Got Talent competition, the Reimagining Producer/Maker Program workshop, the Bashaw Agricultural Society fundraiser, the AfriCanada Symposium tour, the Army Cadets Ceremonial Review, recreation advisory discussions, and local school and community events.
Councillor Lyseng provided an update from the Camrose & District FCSS Board following its Annual General Meeting. The Board reported significant growth in demand for services, with more than 40,000 client visits in 2025, and highlighted the positive impact of programs such as the Community Navigator in supporting residents in need.
Councillors also shared feedback from residents, including concerns related to recent rainfall, localized flooding, and water issues. Updates were provided on the Ohaton Athletic Committee’s successful Legacy Grant application for a new air conditioning unit, along with several upcoming community events.
