The Need for Self Differentiation in Challenging Times
Description:
The Need for Self-Differentiated Leaders in Challenging Times: In this session, we will argue that it is crucial in challenging times
to have leaders who are self-differentiated (or in the higher stages of adult development). Most existing leadership programs and
courses only teach horizontal skills and do not offer participants opportunities to develop self-differentiation or vertical skills.
But, it is possible to teach these skills and we will show this by offering all the participants a chance to engage in an experiential
exercise called ‘Walk the Cube’.
Objectives:
An understanding of the difference between horizontal skills development and vertical skill development in leadership programs.
An experiential exercise from a vertical development program that shows how different and impactful those kinds of courses can
be.
