Hamlet of Ferintosh is located approximately 38 kilometres south of Camrose, and 102 kilometres southeast of Edmonton. The hamlet is situated on beautiful Little Beaver Lake.
The community takes its name from Ferintosh, in Scotland. Ferintosh incorporated as a village on January 9, 1911. It relinquished its village status on January 1, 2020, when it dissolved to become a hamlet under the jurisdiction of Camrose County. Ferintosh's economy is based on mixed farming, ranching and more recently oil and gas, services and retirement.
Ferintosh is known for its popular campground managed by Camrose County and naturally beautiful trails around the lake. The population of 200 has been increasing slowly over the past five years. The Battle River Co-op continues to be a growing success. Ferintosh Hotel Bar & Restaurant is one of the oldest businesses in this area. The village's scenic amenity and strong social cohesion are felt to be a major asset. There is a strong seniors centre as well.
