Ohaton is a safe and friendly community of 133 people. It is located just 13 km east of Camrose on Hwy #13. It sits in a region of rolling hills and small lakes, and is surrounded by many attractive farms and acreages. The surrounding area is mostly farmed with grain and canola or ranched with predominantly cattle.

Ohaton has a beautiful Community Centre, outdoor skating rink, basketball court, and playground. Just 8 km northeast of the hamlet you can find an old Parkland Evangelical Lutheran Church, built in 1930. It is an excellent example of rural Lutheran church design in Alberta.

Previously an incorporated municipality, Ohaton dissolved from village status on January 1, 1946. The Ohaton post office was opened in 1906 with the name "Ohaton" being a portmanteau of the partners Osler, Hammond and Nanton of a notable Winnipeg financial firm. The Ohaton school was built in 1909 and closed in June, 1956.
