Discover numerous fantastic fishing spots in Camrose County, perfect for an enjoyable outing with your family. Alberta hosts two Family Fishing Weekends each year when you don't need to have a fishing license:
- February – over the Family Day long weekend, and
- July – during the weekend following Canada Day.

Pelican Point Park
Pelican Point Park is located at the large Buffalo Lake, home to one of Central Alberta's most important northern pike populations. As one of the “last good places to fish for pike going east,” anglers of all skill levels will surely have a memorable experience. Burbot, white sucker, and small fish such as emerald shiner, Iowa darter, brook stickleback and fathead minnow, are also found in Buffalo Lake. Due to the large number of fish, this is a great place to bring all family.

Tillicum Beach Park
Tillicum Beach is located at long ribbon Dried Meat Lake. Driedmeat Lake is popular for angling for northern pike in summer and for ice-fishing in winter. Other species found in the lake include longnose dace, lake chub, emerald shiner, spottail shiner, white sucker and brook stickleback. The beach area has all of the necessary amenities for a day trip or camping, including a boat launch. Every January, a family fishing derby is organized by Battle River Reelers.

Nature Conservation Centre
The Nature Conservation Centre is a beautiful day-use area in the southeast corner of Camrose County. This is a great place to watch birds, go for a walk, canoe, or even scuba dive. The pond is annually stocked with rainbow trout and is a busy place for fishermen in the summer and winter. The picnic area has a gazebo, fire pits, playground, and washroom facilities.

Pleasure Island Fish Pond
Pleasure Island Fish Pond is approximately 8 km SE of Camrose and is accessed South of Highway 13 on RR 195. It was developed by Camrose & District Fish & Game Association. ACA annually stocks this pond with trout, typically before the May long weekend. The area has a great walking trail system, fishing stations, and benches around the pond. Day use only. No open fires.

Telegraph Park Pond
A beautiful Hay Lakes Telegraph Park has a great campground and a pond that is a day-use area with a picnic shelter, a hiking trails, horseshoe pit, interpretive trails and a playground. ACA annually stocks this pond with trout, typically before the May long weekend.

Bashaw Trout Pond
The trout pond located at the east end of Bashaw is open for public use and is stocked with 600 rainbow trout every spring. This particular pond is included under the Enhanced Fish Stocking Program, which is run and coordinated by the Alberta Conservation Association and is stocked with trout every May.

Bawlf Pond
A small dugout located on the north side of Jubilee Park, east of the Water Treatment Facility in the Village of Bawlf. The pond is annually stocked with trout. Fishing licenses are required, catch and release only.
