After its closure as a school, the building continued to serve the community as a community centre, hosting events such as square dances, Rural Electrification Association meetings, sewing circles, and horseshoe tournaments—becoming a hub of local social life.

Since 1983, the Hampton Community Historical Society has been actively involved in preserving the school site and its associated structures, which include the original school building, a gazebo, a shed, and public washrooms.

The site remains an important heritage landmark and a testament to early rural education in the Camrose County region. Visitors frequently stop to enjoy the historical setting and picnic facilities, and efforts continue to maintain the grounds and structures for future generations.
