Pelican Point Park at Buffalo Lake

Located on the north shore of Buffalo Lake, you will find one of the best-kept secrets in central Alberta, Pelican Point Park.

Pelican Point Park is home to a beautiful campground owned and operated by Camrose County and features one of the best family beaches in the province. The kid-friendly beach has a lot of soft sand, a playground and shallow, gradually deepening fresh waters in the designated swimming area.

Tillicum Beach Park at Driedmeat Lake

Tillicum Beach Park & Campground is located on Driedmeat Lake, the major recreation hub in the area, and is operated by Camrose County. Dried Meat Lake is a naturally wide section of the Battle River and is a drinking source for the City of Camrose. The dam, built in 1975, has created stable water levels, ideal for novice paddlers. Tillicum Beach Park has seven camping sites.

Camrose County Nature Conservation Centre

The Nature Conservation Centre is a beautiful day-use area in the southeast corner of Camrose County, created in 2010 in the former Blatz Gravel Pit.

This is a great place to watch birds, go for a walk, canoe, or even scuba dive. The pond is stocked with rainbow trout and is a busy place for fishermen in the summer and winter.  The picnic area has a gazebo, fire pits, playground, and washroom facilities.

Meeting Creek Heritage Park

Meeting Creek Heritage Railway Station and Park is famous for its heritage. It features a restored 1913 Canadian Northern Railway Station Museum with a section of railway tracks, a restored 1917 Alberta Pacific Grain Elevator, and linear park trails. Call 780-672-3099 for museum opening hours.

Miquelon Lake Provincial Park

Miquelon Lake Provincial Park is a recreation and protected area between Edmonton and Camrose. It is a popular day-use area and camping destination. The 1,300-hectare park provides year-round access to nature with a large campground, beach area, and scenic trails that showcase a landscape formed by retreating glaciers over 12,000 years ago.

Red Deer Lake

Red Deer Lake is a fresh water alkaline lake situated near Bashaw in central Alberta, Canada. The lake has been steadily dropping since 1974 on average 7 cm per year. The cause of the drop is a mystery but losses to groundwater is suspected. Lake is not suitable for swimming.

Windsor Lake

Windsor Lake is a small but popular day-use fishing lake and recreation spot located west of Bashaw in Camrose County. It is known for being a stocked trout pond and providing key amenities for anglers and outdoor visitors.
