MEETING CREEK HERITAGE PARK

Meeting Creek Heritage Railway Station and Linear Park is a heritage site and outdoor destination, located in the small hamlet of Meeting Creek, Camrose County. This site preserves and interprets early 20th-century prairie railway and agricultural history: the restored 1913 Canadian Northern Railway station and a 1917 Alberta Pacific Grain Elevator. Today the heritage park stands as a testament to prairie settlement and transport history in Camrose County.

The park is overlooked by dedicated volunteers of the Canadian Northern Society and is open to public during special events or by appointment. Call for information the Camrose Heritage Railway Station office at 780-672-3099.

Popular Activities

Tour the restored 1913 Canadian Northern Railway station and 1917 Alberta Pacific Grain Elevator to learn about prairie railway and agricultural history. The station is set up as it might have been when it was in operation, including the agent operator’s office, freight shed, and agent’s living quarters. To ensure someone will be onsite to unlock the buildings, call the Camrose Heritage Railway station (780-672-3099) in advance.

While on site, take a walk down the Linear Park Trails, which follow the old railway right of way, and stop at the grassland to see the prairie grasses and walk the Stone Labyrinth.

All trails are open year-round.

For outdoor recreation use for hiking, horseback riding, cycling, wagon treks, picnics, skiing and snowshoeing. Motorized vehicles are not permitted on the trails.
