The Canada-Alberta Job Grant is a training program where an employer applies on behalf of their present or future employees for eligible training costs. Employers decide who gets training and what type of training may be needed for their employees. A reminder that this program can also be used to train an unemployed Albertan that you might want to consider hiring… and at 100% reimbursement. This grant supports smaller budget Alberta productions and contributes to the government's goal of growing Alberta's cultural industries. It assists Alberta producers to develop Alberta content. It also helps them attract and maintain skilled labour by providing employment opportunities for emerging talent and established industry professionals.

The Innovation Employment Grant encourages economic growth by supporting small and medium-sized businesses that invest in research and development (R&D) with a grant worth up to 20% of qualifying expenditures.The program promotes investment and diversification by rewarding all R&D spending in Alberta, regardless of the industry, and complementing the Job Creation Tax Cut by focusing on small and medium-sized firms in the earlier stages of operation, when they might not yet be profitable.
The Innovation Employment Grant is delivered through the corporate tax system and does not follow a formal application process. Eligible corporations will be able to claim the grant when they file their annual corporate returns.

Alberta Innovates extended its IRR to help more small-to-medium-sized businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The IRR program offers tech businesses access to various technical and business supports that are not covered through other relief programs. Project activities may include product testing and refinement, manufacturing capacity improvement, customer discovery work as well as professional services such as human resources, legal, and financial required to support relief and recovery. Support for each project ranges from $5,000 to $10,000. Stay up to date with the latest news in Alberta's innovation ecosystem, and learn about exciting new project and funding opportunities.

ERA is accepting applications for projects that create skilled jobs, boost investment, and cut greenhouse gas emissions in small and medium sized industrial and commercial facilities. Up to $55 million in funding is available to help Alberta businesses decrease operating costs while diversifying the economy and helping to meet long-term sustainability goals. Up to $250,000 is available for each project with a maximum of $500,000 per parent company to cover the cost of adopting new products and services.
This is a focussed economic stimulus program; funding will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis until program funds are fully committed. Contractors are urged to register for eligibility now; pre-approval is required for all projects.

The Rural Renewal Stream supports the attraction and retention of newcomers to rural Alberta through a community-driven approach that supports local economic development needs and contributes to the growth of the community. The Rural Renewal Stream empowers rural communities to recruit and retain foreign nationals to live, work and settle in their communities.
